Blaugust Day 9 - All Horde to 60!

Hi,

It's the 9th day of Blaugust and things are going well, although I didn't get to play much yesterday, because we were getting ready for, and hosting, our first dinner party for 3 other couples in our new house.

What I did get sone this morning though is to get Combatbrit to level 60 and thus get all Horde to level 60. We're done with Eastern Kingdoms now, and it will be Outland Outland Outland until it's coming out of my ears for weeks to come :)

Yesterday, when I did get a bit of time, I worked on Shammy. She is now level 75 and questing in Grizzly Hills. Also, in doing the Garrison stuff, Beasty got enough Sorcerous Earth to craft another Burnished Essence, and increased her iLvL by 1.

Another thing I did this morning was to grind out a couple of things that were getting low. Savage Crates on Beasty, and Sumptuous Fur on Priesty.

I hope to get more play time today, to get Shammy to higher levels, and to do all the Garrison stuff etc. Big update tomorrow on the Master Plan.

In Hearthstone, I have decided to just make sure to do the quest each day. I got the Win 5 Games as Warrior or Rogue. So, I stepped on my Warrior and got it done, in about 10 games. The quest today is win 3 on any class, so it should be a lot easier.

Blaugust Day 8 - 9th Horde to 60

Hi,

It's day 8 of Blaugust, and let's get back to things, after the hype of Legion is waning now.

I got my 9th Horde to 60 this morning. Lockybrit quested in Blasted Lands, got herbs, and killed lots of rares to get to 60. That leaves only Combatbrit to get to 60. I'm pretty excited that soon they'll all be done with Blasted Lands and be ready to go to, or already be in, Outland. It's going to be interesting questing there in the mornings.

I have also leveled Shammybrit a bit more in the last couple of days, finally getting to Dragonblight, and she's now level 74.

Other than that, I've been getting a lot of Dungeon DMF stuff, so I sent Preisty and Beasty to DMF to hand them in, and then convert tons of tickets for DMF boxes (to vendor) for 2g50s each. Priesty is now sitting on over 48K, which is encouraging, as she's soon to get to 50K.

Preisty and Beasty have also been doing all the garrison stuff, and have been totally ignoring the Shipyard. Priesty has been AHing Ore, some Frostweed, some Hexweave gloves, some runes, and quite a bit of old world stuff. It's so frustrating when the stuff doesn't sell though. The Ore and Herbs usually sell well, but she's only sold one our of 6 Gloves, and I have to re-list tons of stuff over and over.

Oh, I have to tell you about the bad thing that happened in Hearthstone. I was playing in Ranked with my Priest against a Mage. They had a secret on the board. Now, it could be Counter a spell, or Copy a minion when played. Without thinking, I played a Boulderfist Ogre (6 cost) instead of Voodo Doctor (1 cost weenie). Of course, the secret was Copy a minion and I'd made a really bad misplay. That's not the issue though. The issue is that he emoted - Well Played. I couldn't believe it. So, I immediately quit the game and will only do quests in casual and build up my European collection now. So annoying.

Blaugust Day 7 - Legion!

Well, it's day 7 of Blaugust and I'm here to talk about the next Expansion of WoW, that was announced yesterday. Without further ado, what do we get in the new Expansion:

1. New Continent, the Broken Isles

Awesome. A new continent to quest in. I like new zones, and I love leveling. The new continent looks like a lot of fun.

2. New Class - Demon Hunter

Gosh, it had to be Melee, didn't it. Not for me then. I might play one just to see what it's like, but will soon go back to all my Ranged characters.

3. Artifact Weapons

Hmm. This looks kind of cool, I guess. It all depends how we get to boost them up and whether any of the content required is gated behind stupid things like Proving Grounds or not.

4. Class Specific Order Halls and Followers

OK, but why? It's not instanced, so you're hanging around with loads of others from your class. So how are you the champion of the class, if everyone else is? I guess I need to see all the things you can do in these Halls before really appreciating them. And followers, but not really followers. They're like glorified NPCs that you can go do things with, find new areas for you etc. OK, I guess.

5. All new Dungeons and Raids

Awesome. Tons more Dungeons and a couple of Raids. This will be great, as they've said they want Dungeons to remain relevant. Need to see how they accomplish this, and whether there's any stupid gating of Heroics with Proving Grounds. Hopefully they'll go back to the model of - have to complete every single dungeon on regular before you can queue for Heroic.

6. New World Bosses

Good. Like Rukmar, Kazzak etc. I guess. Group content I do sometimes, so having World Bosses is definitely content we need at max level.

7. Level Cap Raised to 110

Awesome. I love leveling, and 10 more levels for my 100s will be great. Leveling in a new Continent will be lots of fun.

8. Revamped PvP Progression System

The is really good. I don't PvP myself, but I can see the advantages of this, and it means that PVE stuff won't be affected so much by having to cater to PvP. All good here.

9. Improved Transmogrification System

Again, I don't do any Tmog myself, but can see how this is a good thing for those that do.

10. Improved Social Features

Hmm, I have no idea what this is. I don't believe they talked about it either. I'll have to wait and see.

11. Character Boost to 100 for one character

I'm all for that. I may just do a Plate Wearer, to supplement all my current Horde characters, for the Plate timeless Isle stuff, and maybe to get BS too, for more Sorcerous Earth from Work Orders.

12. And more.....

There better be more. There are lots of questions that need answering, like:

a. What else is there to do at max level (Dailies?)?
b. When will we be able to fly?
c. How will Faction Rep be handled?
d. How will professions be handed?

So, overall, Legion looks like a fine Expansion. Need to know more about it, but I'm pretty sure I'll be buying it on at least one account. I'm a bit disappointed that the follower concept isn't carried over and that we don't get Housing, just Class Halls.

Back to regular programming tomorrow, with my WoW and Hearthstone progress. Let's just say that I'm all done with Swamp of Sorrows now, and in Hearthstone, I had a bad experience that has left me wondering whether I should play any more.

Blaugust Day 6 - It's all about Shammy!

Hi on the 6th day of Blaugust,

Well, not all, but after the Garrison stuff and Sunsong Ranch and Timeless Isle on Priesty last night, it was time to move Shammy ahead again. She's still questing in Borean Tundra, and queued for a random Dungeon and got Utgarde Keep again. So, she got to 71 very quickly, and made it to 72 too. She's not even finished much of BT, but I'll move her on to Dragonblight soon.

In the evening, I played a bit of Hearthstone too. The quest was win 2 as Druid or Rogue. I actually played my aggressive Druid that I had been tuning for Maexxna. Only took 3 games to win 2 in Casual. Then I decided to play my Priest in Ranked, lost the first, losing a star, and won the second, gaining a star.

This morning, I started saying goodbye to Swamp of Sorrows. Just two to get through there. Locky made it all the way through, got to 57, and is now in Blasted Lands.

I made a head start on Combatbrit, doing the first few quests in SoS for the last time. She's holed up in Bogpaddle, ready to head off to finish them off tomorrow morning.

That's about it, watched a bit of TV with the wife last night too (Last Tango in Halifax).

In half an hour, we'll know about the next WoW expansion, which I will report on tomorrow.

Blaugust Day 5 - Everyone Through DMF

It's the fifth day of Blaugust. Here's what I got up to, in WoW and Hearthstone, last night and this morning.

In WoW, I took the remaining 5 characters to DMF to do the profession quests. They are all done now. I do have to remember to go back and hand in the stuff from Dungeons though. And then, I think I'll buy more DMF boxes to convert tokens into gold.

I also got Lockybrit to Swamp of Sorrows, ready to quest to 60. On Priesty, I know I was saying I won't be doing high level content now, but she did have the Ko'ragh quest, so she queued for Arcane Sanctum, while doing Sunsong Ranch and Timeless Isle. She didn't get any loot in the Raid wing, but got a 655 trinket from the quest, which was a nice upgrade from 645. Another was, I realized she had enough Sorcerous Water to craft two Hexweave Essence. So, she upgraded both her Cloth cratfed pieces to level 4. She's now at 658.

This morning, after the Follower missions, I got Mageybrit to level 60 in Blasted Lands. Now I only have Lockybrit and Combatbrit to get to 60. It's going to feel really good once they're all in Outland. I can quest in piece in the morning, and run dugeons and quest at night. Speaking of which, Shammy did get a bit of play last night, and completed the Nexus, and is almost level 71.

In Hearthstone, the quest was to deal 100 damage to opposing Heroes. I thought about playing a different deck, but just got on Ranked on my Priest to grind it out instead. It took me 5 games to get it, going 3-2. I think I'm at Rank 19 now. I also played a bit on the European realm, leveling up a Warrior.

More tomorrow.

BTW: Simple gob-smacked about the Subs numbers from the quarterly Activision report. 5.6 Millions, down another 1.5 Million in the quarter. Let's hope the next Expansion, to be revealed tomorrow, really knocks our socks off.

Blaugust Day 4 - Stocking up!

Yep, it's Day 4 of Blaugust and let me just fill you in on what I was up to last night and this morning.

Mostly, I did mundane stuff last night. I was stocking up on Crates (for the Barn) on Beasty in Nagrand, because she was getting low on them. I also was killing tons of wolves near the FFR Garrison on Priesty for Sumptuous Fur, to get it back up near 200.

Other that that, I took Combatbrit and Mageybrit to DMF for the profession quests, and then had them both head off to Swamp of Sorrows, installing them both at the Inn there, for questing later. I didn't have time to do Lockybrit, because my wife and I watched some TV together (Masterchef).

Oh, one other thing was taking Priesty to Warspear to get the PvP Head piece. She is now up to 656.

I did realize that if I'm going to get my Master Plan finished, I really need to concentrate on leveling those that are not 100 yet, rather than playing those at 100 (except for gold, as we need 10M). All the gearing up, reps etc. will come with time. Need to get them all to 100 first.

In Hearthstone, the quest was to win 3 games. So I hopped onto my Priest in Casual, and lost horribly to a Rogue Mech Deck. So, I got on Ranked, where I was 22, and won 3 games in a row and got to Rank 20 :). I also built a Mage damage deck, and on my second try, downed Maexxna (finally!!).

Blaugsut Day 3 - Shammy Moves Ahead!

OK. Shammybrit tore through Outland into Northrend and after a bit of questing and Dugeons, is now level 70. A funny thing happened. I was doing Utgarde Keep and got all the quests done. At the end, port out of the dungeon to port back in at the start. But in that millisecond, the whole group dropped, so I couldn't port back in :). I thought I'd fly all the way to Howling Fjord to get them handed in, but my random dungeon popped and it was Utgarde Keep again. Phew.

The reason I'm moving Shammy ahead is that I really need high Draenor Alchemy. I'm getting tons of Sorcerous Air I don't need right now, and need to make it Sorcerous Earth instead.

Other than that Priesty actually did the new first wing of LFR. It was pretty fun. I had no idea of the fights, but it was pretty easy to pick up what was going on. She also did a fair bit of PvP and has actually won a couple of BGs now (out of about 20 :)). So 300 Conquest. She's also built up over 2000 Honor again, so it's time for another PvP piece.

Another thing, DMF is in town!

I've taken Priesty, Beasty, and Shammy through there already. I'll do the others before the end of the week. I only do the profession quests. I don't bother with anything else, because I don't really need the DMF tokens for anything.

On other characters, I did get 3 more to 60, and Elfy did actually do a bit of Outland and got to 61.

In Hearthstone, I still haven't defeated the 3rd boss of Naxx. I actually got so frustrated that I started playing in the European realm, starting over from scrath. I got the Mage to level 10, and am now working on the Priest. It's fun playing over again and getting gold and opening packs and stuff. I think I'll keep this going while I do the quests on Americas, and play around on European.
