Done with Classic!!

Hi,

Yeah well, that didn't last long. I think the breaking point for me came when I got my Warlock to level 24. Getting to anywhere near 25 was taking forever, and she was dying on quests even when grouped with others. There were other things that were getting really annoying too. Losing the Voidwalker on a Flight Path, not being able to see quests or objectives and having to go to wowhead for every single quest, and things like that. They were new and fresh for the first week or so, but just got monotonous after that. So, I decided to go back to retail on Sunday night. I did create more characters in Classic, but that's not important now.

So, back to Retail and Nazjatar we go:

Lockybrit in Nazjatar

I got my characters doing World Quests in Nazjatar again. The Rune and Key Line ones, that is. Also, Huntingbrit and Priestybrit (who are still to get their 6th Champion) did the opposite faction Emissary to get some more rep. There was also a 2K gold Emissary up for Alliance, but I only managed to do it on some of them, not all this time. I also did the LFR gold making on only one character on Garrosh this week.

I tried to get Mardivas' Lab done on all characters before the reset, but strangely, a couple hadn't unlocked it yet. I don't really know why, but know it's a drop from mobs. And as I don't kill many mobs while in Nazjatar, I may never open it up on them. I'm also trying to get 'raise an ally to level 3' done on all of them.

I also leveled Elfyvoidbrit yesterday. She's almost at 116 now.

I won't report on gold this week, but I will get back to that next week.

Some Good Progress!!

Hi,

Well, some good progress all around this week in Classic. I've now got 4 characters on Old Blanchy, and I even started a Horde one on Azuresong.

Lockybrit made it to level 21 this week. She went to Redridge Mountains at level 18 and tried to get some quests done there. But I got absolutely destroyed by the Whelps while trying to get Condor meat. Then I realized that the way to go (certainly for me) is to do low level quests that are green to level up mostly, and be very careful about trying to do the yellow quests. So, she went off to Darkshore (quite a hike to get there - tram to Ironforge, walk to Loch Modan and Wetlands to get to Menethil Harbor, and then boat to Auberdine). It's good that there are tons of 10-20 options. She had a lot of fun in Darkshore, and is now ready to go back to Redridge Mountains. Her Tailoring is coming along nicely and she's got enough Wool Cloth to make some Woolen Bags.

Quiverbrit made it to level 15. She did lots of Elwyn Forest, and is now doing some Loch Modan. She'll do Darkshore too soon. She's still getting lots of Linen Cloth, and sends it to Lockybrit for making Linen Bags to vendor.

I started two more characters this week on Alliance. Priestybrit (Human) the Priest with Mining and Engineering, and Stabbybrit (Human) the Rogue, with Skinning and Leatherworking. They are both now level 7.

The Horde character I made this week is Corruptbrit (Undead) the Warlock. I took Tailoring and Enchanting on her as the first character on the realm. She made it to level 9.

Lockybrit has made it to 4g now. Whoo Hoo.

Starting Completely Over - Again!!

Hi,

Well well. I've decided that I'm going to stop playing retail WoW, and just play Classic WoW for the next few months at least. With that, let me tell you about my Classic experience.

Well, I started on an RP realm, because I was in the mode of thinking that CRZ existed and that it would be quieter there. So, I got a Warlock to level 8. But then I realized that I wanted to be on Old Blanchy with some other friends of mine. So, I deleted my Warlock and started over. I got a Human Warlock started on Old Blanchy with Tailoring/Enchanting. Once I got to about level 10, I realized that I needed more Linen cloth, so I started a Night Elf Hunter with Herbing/Enchanting and she funneled all the Linen Cloth over to my Warlock.

OK, how is Classic? Well, it's more difficult, grindy and takes way longer to do anything than in retail. But it's fun. Lots of fun. It's great seeing the zones the way they were at the start. It's great that professions are actually fun again. It's great that 10s seems like a lot. It's great getting a new talent each level, and great paying for new abilities.

I did Elwyn Forest on my Warlock, headed to Westfall, hated it, so headed over to Loch Modan. Then she went back and did a bit of Sentinel Hill stuff in Westfall and got to level 15. Now the plan is to go to Redridge Mountains.

On my Hunter, I did Teldrassil until high level 9, and then decided I wanted to do Elwyn Forest. So, she did the trek all the way through Wetlands to get to Ironforge and then Stormwind City. She set her Hearth there. Then, when she got to level 10, she got the quest to go BACK TO TELDRASSIL!! OMG. Back to Ironforge, flight to Menethil Harbor, over to Auberdine etc. and eventually she got Pet training. I didn't realize that the level 10 Pet training quests are in your home zone. Sigh.

Anyway, she's level 11 now, and has finally got a wolf pet.

Oh, I was debating whether to join a guild, or start my own personal guild. I finally decided to start a personal guild and offered 5s for signatures. I got my personal guild, but then realized there was no guild bank. In fact, nothing of any benefit for me at all. Oh well, maybe stuff will be added later.

Talking about later, I really want Expansions to be added to Classic over time. I want to experience Burning Crusade and WOLK etc. What would be perfect IMHO is two games on the same timeline, separated by 15 years.

Oh well, we'll have to wait and see.

Here's gold situation: 11 million gold on retail. Less than 1g on Classic :)

Upgrading with Mana Pearls!!

Hi,

I realized that with all the Beethic gear I'm getting from missions and World Quests and all the mana pearls I'm getting from them too, I won't need to be saving up tons of mana pearls to buy Benethic gear for alts who make it to 120. So, I decided to start upgrading gear (for 20 each) for all my characters except for a couple.

So, the iLvL of nearly all my 120s increased this week.

I leveled Elfyvoidbrit a bit this week. She made it to 115. I didn't level anyone else though. I spent the rest of the week doing LFRs on my 120s and doing emissaries for 2K each, and selling mats and pets on all my realms. Generally, a lot of gold making. I won't be buying any tokens anytime soon though, because the price is now around 160K because of the WoW Classic launch.

Talking about WoW Classic, I did dabble in it a bit yesterday and today. Yesterday was horrible. I couldn't even get a kill in on a Kobold because of so many people on the server. I couldn't get on Bloodsail Bucaneers either because of the 40 minute wait. A totally different matter this morning. I could get on fine, and kill stuff and make progress. My Warlock (Humanbrit) made it to level 5. No junk from fishing to supplement funds though, so I only have just over 2s on Classic. Tailoring/Enchanting on this one. Just about to do some Goldshire quests.

So, how much gold did we make this week? Well, we got to over 500K on the funded char on Ghostlands, and the one on Garrosh too. I'll do a new one on Garrosh, but don't want to on Ghostlands, because I'll be buying tokens soon.

My 11th Level 120!!

Hi,

Yay. I got Priestybrit to 120 on Garrosh earlier this week. She got full Benethic gear, and headed into Nazjatar to get a 370 staff and some other stuff. Then she cherry-picked World Quests to get a couple of Rings and Trinkets. So now, she's sitting at 385 iLvL.

She had no trouble doing all the LFR dungeons and so made tons of gold this week in leveling up, and running LFRs. Now that I've added another 120 to the mix, I'll be getting a base of 44.1K from LFRs, instead of the 41K I'm currently getting.

There wasn't much else going on this week. A little bit of leveling on Unstablebrit on Garrosh. Also, I did make sure to do the Weekly Boss on nearly all my 120s this week, because it gave 250 WRs. There were also some 2K Emissaries this week. Indeed, there was one yesterday that is still in progress for all my Alliance characters.

I didn't sell anything on the AH this week, but will make an attempt to sell mats and pets on all realms in this coming week.

Paragon fun!!

Hi,

What do I mean by that? Oh, It's seeing which characters are close to 10000/10000 Exalted for any BFA reps, and getting them there to get Paragon for that faction and get some special supplies. The supplies contain tons of War Resources and over 4K gold. I know it's a one time thing on each character, but it certainly helps when they're low on WRs and provides some nice extra gold.

I also leveled some characters a bit this week. I concentrated mostly on Priestybrit on Garrosh this week. She pretty much finished up Drustvar and she's now questing in Tirigarde Sound. She made it to 117 this week. The great thing with leveling characters in BFA with flying is that they get tons of Treasure Chests. These keep the WRs rolling in and get them the 280 Helm very quickly. I leveled Elfyvoidbrit to 113 on Garrosh too. On Ghoslands, Zandybrit made it to 92, and on Draenor, I got Unstablebrit to 112.

I've pretty much stopped doing Nazjatar on my 120s. I occasionally do a Rune or Uncross Lines quest if they give Gold or Mana Pearls, but I've stopped doing ally quests totally.

Of course, I continued to do the LFRs for Warlords and Pandaria Raids on all my 120s, and on Garrosh, they also did Terrace of Endless Springs, and Moshugan Vaults on 25H. There was also selling of mats on Garrosh, and trying to sell all the pets coming from the Raids. Not many sold though.

Back to Leveling!!

Hi,

Yeah, back to leveling this week, although I did still make sure to do gold-making using LFR on all my 120s again. I'm leveling 3 more to 120. Priestybrit and Elfyvoidbrit on Garrosh, and Unstablebrit on Draenor. They are all questing in Drustvar first.

I also got all the other leveling chars to 90 this week. Zandybrit even did the Dark Portal opening and got her Garrison to get to 91.

I did a little bit of Nazjatar this week, but not much. Only a few Mana Pearls collected. I've been thinking about getting gold from Mana Pearls. I guess the Leggings are best. They net about 72g for 5 MPs.

With making sure that I did all the LFR stuff on all 120s, I also did a couple of Pandaria Raids on Heroic this week on one character. Here's Felbrit in Heart of Fear:

Some of my 120s geared up this week because they looked for Ring or Trinket world quests and knocked them out to get some 385 gear. Oh I must remember to go to the Timewalking vendor this week to see what 380 gear is there. Oh, Huntingbrit actually did Mechagon to get the 400 Trinket. After doing all those quests, I decided not to bother on any other characters. So much work.

Now for gold. The 10 LFRs net about 4100g. That's vendoring the patterns dropped. A few lockboxes usually too, that give about 150 more gold. So probably about 4250g each, not counting any pet selling. I've just done a bit of mat and pet selling on Ghostlands and Garrosh this week. The gold is mounting up nicely.
